Unblocker #12 – That Key in Your Pocket

This is one of those prompts where I want you to let the story fly without thinking about it. Pretend that you have ten seconds to keep writing, and just write the very first thing that comes to mind. In fact, here’s what you do with this prompt: Re-write it in your notebook (or re-type it if you INSIST) and where the prompt ends, you just keep writing. Don’t pick up the pen or stop tip-tap-typing, just go-go-go! This prompt is a first-person, past-tense prompt. Change the tense and point of view, if you must, but don’t spend too much time THINKING. Just WRITE.

So, here it is:

The key had been in my pocket for two weeks, and I hadn’t found the courage to use it. When I finally put the key in the lock and turned it, I was horrified to find…

That’s it. Why are you reading this part? You’re supposed to be writing…
